If someone had an auction, everyone brought baked goods and soup to sell as a fundraiser. And we sold hundreds of ham and cheese sandwiches or subs. We often took orders from neighbors and friends. And then they had fundraisers to help with the other half. In our church, half of everyone’s hospital bills were paid by the church.
